What age groups does the Community Teams serve?

The Community Club Level is designed for players aged 9 to 14 (typically covering the U9 through U14/U15 soccer age groups). This stage provides a platform for continued skill progression and introduces more advanced team concepts compared to the Juniors program.

What is the commitment for Community Club teams?

Players joining our Community Club teams commit to playing in both the Fall and Spring seasons to ensure team continuity and allow for consistent development throughout the year. Teams usually play approximately 8 league games each season, plus potential tournament play.

What kind of training do Community Club players receive?

Each team benefits from 6 professional training sessions per season (Fall and Spring), led by experienced DFA coaches focused on enhancing technical and tactical growth. Additionally, players can maintain sharpness and continue development with access to free Winter Training sessions running from January through March.

What leagues do the Community Club teams play in?

Our Community Club teams compete in established local youth soccer leagues appropriate for their age and development. U9-U10 teams typically play in the Miami Valley Youth Soccer Association (MVYSA), while U11 and older teams may compete in MVYSA, the Buckeye Premier Youth Soccer League (BPYSL), or potentially the Ohio Soccer State League (OSSL), depending on specific team placement.

What game format do the Community Club teams play?

The game format aligns with US Youth Soccer standards for optimal player development and varies by age group. Typically, U9-U10 teams play 7v7, U11-U12 teams play 9v9 to encourage more touches on the ball, and U13 and older teams transition to the full 11v11 format used in higher levels of play.

Are tournaments included in the Community Club program?

Yes, participation fees for one local Spring tournament are included for all Community Club teams. This provides players with valuable competitive experience against different opponents and great team bonding opportunities.

Are there any other perks for Community Club players?

Yes, players registered on a Community Club team receive a significant 50% discount on other eligible DFA programs, such as supplemental camps or specialized clinics offered throughout the year. This allows players to pursue further focused skill development at a reduced cost.
