Official Club Statement regarding COVID-19

Update April 3, 2020

Attention Parents / Players / Coaches,

As we continue to navigate our way through this spring, Dayton Futbol Academy is remaining optimistic that we will be able to return to play as soon as our governing body releases us to do so.  Buckeye Premier has updated their dates to return to play on May 1st, following the latest mandate from Ohio South.  Again, this is a fluid situation and those dates could change at any time.  We still have tournaments and league games scheduled and do plan on returning to a training program as soon as it safe to do so.  We put the safety of our DFA family as our highest priority.  In the meantime, please encourage your players to get out with a ball as often as possible.  Stay active and be ready to resume play.

As we continue to look toward a return to normalcy we will be releasing tryout pre-registration for next year’s season. OSYSA has set June 1st as the first day for tryouts.  In the coming weeks you’ll see tryout registration emails begin.  The dates for these tryouts, much like our current season, are fluid and could change as we continue monitor the situation.

Stay safe.  Stay healthy.  Keep your foot on a ball.  Dayton Futbol Academy

March 31, 2020

Dear DFA Soccer Family,

As you are aware OSYSA and Buckeye Premier League as of March 12th have suspended games until April 15th.

We want to provide you with some up to date information regarding the current training season.

DFA has been closely monitoring the Center for Disease Control and World Health Organization’s statements regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and following the recommended guidelines from these agencies and local health departments as well as US Youth Soccer and Ohio South Youth Soccer.

In addition to this, we have been closely monitoring the recommendations from local, state and regional agencies, on how we should proceed with our practice sessions.

Given the latest emergency declaration and the official orders coming from Governor DeWine, under this direction, we have no choice but to postpone all DFA practice sessions effective immediately.

We have set a timeline of no practice sessions allowed until March 29th.

At that time, we will review our stance and communicate further on any future decision.

Regarding future games to be played, as of March 12th all Buckeye League games and area tournamentst are currently suspended or cancelled through April 15th.

We are currently waiting on updates from the state association and buckeye premier league on their approach regarding games and we will follow up with our membership once we hear back from the respective organizations.

We greatly appreciate the patience and understanding shown from all members and want to thank our soccer community for their support through this challenging time.
